Looking back at the Digital Summit: A successful participation for north.io

As we say goodbye to 2023, it's with immense joy and gratitude that we look back on the incredible journey we've had at north.io.
This year has been a tapestry of achievements, marked by significant milestones and collaborative efforts that have made us a powerhouse in cloud geodata management expertise offshore and onshore.
In September, we embarked on a transformative journey by merging with TrueOcean GmbH and NatureConnect GmbH to form 'north.io' with a new brand and design. The consolidation of expertise has paved the way for innovative solutions, particularly in underwater and land-based geodata management.
In the same month, we exhibited together as north.io at INTERGEO Expo and Conference 2023, the world's leading exhibition and conference for geodesy, geoinformation, and land management. For the first time, we presented our two flagship geodata platforms, TrueOcean and TrueEarth for marine and terrestrial data, on the same stand and at the same conference.
Another milestone for us was our participation in the German government's Digital Summit in Jena, where we presented the Chancellor's Exhibit, showcasing Marispace-X, Europe's largest commercial maritime digitisation project, as a prime example of maritime digital innovation.
After presentations earlier this year to the German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock at the Council of the Baltic Sea States and to the Minister of Economic Affairs Robert Habeck, at the HANNOVER MESSE, to be recognised by Chancellor Olaf Scholz himself at a national platform underlines the importance of our work in shaping the future of the #BlueDataEconomy.
We are proud to be moving the maritime world forward with amazing partners and stakeholders including Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, IONOS, Fraunhofer IGD, GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel, Spire, QPS, Kongstein, WindEurope, Stackable, Kiel University, Universität Rostock, Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie (Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency), Intel Corporation, NVIDIA, and Microsoft.
Our very own marine data platform TrueOcean has also made great strides this year, gaining new customers and significant relevance at renowned events such as WindEurope and Windforce Baltic Sea, showing that we are on the right track to drive the offshore wind revolution through digital collaboration and intelligent data management.
We also extended our SaaS product portfolio beyond the ocean with the launch of the TrueEarth cloud geospatial platform, demonstrating our commitment to the development of smarter and more sustainable cities. TrueEarth made its debut at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona and at the Smart Country Convention in Berlin, signing its first customers and several POCs on the way, and more planned for Q1/2024.

At the product and technical level, we have also made great progress in delivering more value to our customers. The introduction of the geospatial search functionality into both of our platforms, TrueOcean and TrueEarth, is a great milestone, as it enables our users to locate and access their data within seconds using our map-based interface. In addition, the native integration of meteorological data forecasts is empowering professionals to improve their data quality control.
We are also grateful for the recognition our team has received this year for our technological progress and cutting-edge innovation. This was exemplified by winning the 24-hour Hackathon of the Federal Maritime & Hydrographic Agency with a practical application for the cloud-based monitoring of critical underwater infrastructure and the acceptance of our research paper on maritime dataspaces by the peer-reviewed International Hydrographic Review.
We feel blessed that our expertise is contributing value and that we have been able to share it on many panels, interviews, national television, podcasts and at various conferences and events this year.
We are particularly grateful to have been able to participate in and be among the sponsors of ACM SIGSPATIAL, with its positive impact on fostering innovation and collaboration within the GIS community.
None of these achievements would have been possible without the incredible dedication of our entire team, the support of our partners, and the trust of our valued customers. Each one of you has played a pivotal role in making 2023 a year of success and growth for north.io.
As we move into the new year, we carry with us the spirit of innovation, agile transformation, and a shared vision for a digitally transformed and sustainable future - ready to scale.
Thank you for an exceptional year! 🎉
We are excited about more successes and breakthroughs in the year ahead and hope you will continue to join us on this journey.
