Improving Marine Data Management at WindEurope 2023

TrueOcean will exhibit at WindEurope 2023, one of the year’s largest wind energy events, this April. Taking place at the Bella Center in Copenhagen from 25-27 April, 10,000+ visitors are expected to walk through the doors to the sold-out exhibition with more than 430 companies showcasing their latest innovative products and services, and a packed conference line-up featuring 250 speakers, from European government ministers to technical and operational specialists.

Visitors can find TrueOcean on stand C3-A4, where our focus will be on improving the management of marine data using our specialised Marine Data Platform. As a collective, the offshore wind industry is well aware of the many challenges it faces in its mission to build the infrastructure needed to meet extensive new production capacity targets globally. And it’s TrueOcean’s mission at WindEurope to demonstrate that adopting cloud-based principles for marine data management is a key enabler for diverse stakeholders at the planning, development, operations and decommissioning phases of an offshore wind farm.

By offering a single cloud-based platform for managing all marine data for a wind farm or multiple sites, TrueOcean is helping to reduce time and cost, while enabling stakeholders to leverage more value from their resources.

“Our razer-sharp focus on marine data management for offshore wind applications ensures that our users in the energy production and marine survey sectors have the tools to help them optimise diverse workflows from transferring and storing data through to processing it and ultimately applying it to operations in the field,” said Jann Wendt, Founder of TrueOcean. “This all happens in a single dataspace which is cloud-agnostic, so can be hosted on the customer’s preferred cloud service, ensuring data sovereignty and security needs are met according to operational and regulatory demands.”

While the TrueOcean Marine Data Platform is intended to optimise workflows after data has been acquired during surveys or underwater inspections, together with partners we are working towards modernising the entire journey of data from ping to cloud. Which is why marine survey and technology specialist Subsea Europe Services will also join us on our stand at WindEurope. The team is focused on providing true autonomous marine survey using uncrewed surface vessels (USV) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) to reduce the marginal cost of marine data acquisition so that Survey-as-a-Service and Data-as-a-Service business models can be realised.

“Our ongoing development of autonomous platforms for marine survey and underwater inspection is closely linked to cloud-based data management,” explains Sören Themann, CEO, Subsea Europe Services. “We’re confident that our work with TrueOcean on optimising every aspect of marine data from planning, to its use by engineering and maintenance contractors in the field in real-time is a unique offering that will unlock much-needed new ways of working in the offshore wind environment, and we’re looking forward to showing this on our joint stand at WindEurope 2023.”
