Vice Chancellor with Business Delegation in Latin America: north.io is the only Participant from Schleswig-Holstein

Kiel. Jann Wendt (36) from the software developer north.io in Schleswig-Holstein is accompanying the Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection Robert Habeck and the Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture Cem Özdemir from March 11 to 16, 2023, as a member of the business delegation to Brazil and Colombia.

According to the Ministry of Economics, the goal of the trip is "to strengthen and intensify economic relations and climate cooperation with Brazil and Colombia and cooperation in the areas of transformation/ decarbonization of the economy, energy, raw materials, forest protection and skilled workers."

In Brazil, Ministers Habeck and Özdemir will, among other things, participate in the 39th German-Brazilian Brazilian Business Days in Belo Horizonte, which will be held under the motto "modern approaches to energy, climate and digitization."

Offshore wind farms combined with digitization are the key to climate neutrality today, emphasizes Wendt:

"Together with operators here in the north, we are already successfully developing data-driven applications and trusted data spaces for efficient collaboration and digitization in the offshore wind industry. Through more efficient data processing and thus faster expansion of offshore wind farms, we are thus contributing to sustainable energy production." 

Brazil and Colombia play a key role in global climate protection due to their size and sustainability efforts. It is therefore only logical, according to Wendt, to take advantage of the momentum and work closely with these partners:

"After all, digitization and networking is not something you can and accomplish alone; it can only be done as part of a team. And what works in Schleswig-Holstein can also be a solution for other other industries around the world. I am therefore looking forward to the exchange and hope that we can contribute our experience,"

says Wendt.
