Kiel. Last Friday, the head of the State Chancellery (CDS) of the State of Schleswig-Holstein visited north.io GmbH.
Dirk Schrödter (44) is also the Minister of Digitalization and according to him, the topics of digitalization, climate change and future technologies such as artificial intelligence are inseparable today.
That's why, during his visit to the Science Park, he inquired about the products, projects and research contracts currently being advanced by north.io GmbH.io. In particular, he said, the cloud-based data rooms developed by the Kiel-based software company are an important basis for the future management and analysis of all marine or terrestrial data - not only in Schleswig-Holstein.
"north.io is a showcase company, especially when it comes to the digitalization of maritime data."

Jann Wendt (36), CEO of north.io, used a model to illustrate how Big Data processing and analysis of large hydrographic, geographic, geotechnical and sensor data in as well as outside the oceans works.
Schrödter said that it is important to be able to explain the topic of digitization in a way that is clear and tangible for everyone. This has already been achieved very well with topics such as the digitalization of munitions clearance in the sea. Now, he said, it is a matter of finally starting munitions clearance in the waters as soon as possible. Wendt concluded:
"I am pleased that, together with our partners, we have created a 'virtual pot' for all maritime data that will bring concrete digital solutions and improvements, while also enabling new business models in and for Schleswig-Holstein."
