north.io GmbH and K.U.M. Environmental- and Marine Technology GmbH are working on solutions for monitoring and understanding the problem of munition in the sea in an unprecedented depth of detail.
After the end of World War II, millions of tons of munitions were dumped in the world’s oceans that endanger the environment and human safety.
In sea water these remnants of wars including chemical weapons, break open over time and release their toxic content into the sea, resulting in multiple threats to our oceans.
By developing a network of autonomous buoys that can detect & report changes in microscopic concentrations of TNT and other chemicals compounds in the water column in real time new ways of understanding and monitoring the threat will be possible.
Feel free to contact us and our colleagues from K.U.M. for more information.
