WELCOME TO THE DATA UNIVERSE - north.io presents at TDWI Munich

 Munich. Under the slogan: WELCOME TO THE DATA UNIVERSE we presented the goals and concepts of Gaia-X and Marispace-X at the TDWI Munich 2023 - Germany's largest meeting place for Data, Bi & Analytics - on 21st June.

The presentation "Turning your (maritime) data into a profit with Gaia-X" was aimed at a broad audience as well as specifically at companies and authorities. After all, they are currently sitting on a mountain of valuable data. The 45-minute presentation, given by Sarah Gebauer from north.io and Lars Francke from Stackable,  explained how Gaia-X can help to make profitable use of this data and avoid many risks and friction points.

To recap: The maritime world is built on data. Large infrastructure projects such as wind farms, submarine cables and pipelines require huge amounts of data for planning, construction and maintenance. But huge amounts of data also need to be managed and shared to protect critical maritime infrastructure. Unfortunately, much existing data remains unused or inaccessible. This is often due to the effort required to share or access them in a compliant manner.

When it comes to sharing and accessing commercial data within the EU, the current landscape is characterised by technical, legal and organisational barriers that still make it difficult for companies or authorities to collaborate effectively.

Against this backdrop, Gaia-X will help overcome the challenges of data sharing and foster collaboration and innovation," she said.
