INTERGEO 2023 focuses on maritime topics for the first time - Jann Wendt invited as expert
Kiel/Berlin, 26.09.2023. The INTERGEO Expo and Conference, which will take place from 10 to 12 October in Berlin, has established itself in recent...
In a week packed with innovation, north.io’s ocean data platform, TrueOcean, will be showcased at WindEnergy 2024 in Hamburg, while CEO Jann Wendt takes the stage at INTERGEO 2024 for three key panel discussions on the topic of Blue Economy.
Wendt, a recognised leader in geospatial technologies and ocean data management, will contribute his expertise on the acquisition, management, and processing of ocean data, tackling some of the most pressing challenges faced by the offshore industry, research communities, and government agencies.
EXPO STAGE 1, Hall 5 (F5.009)
Wednesday, 25.09.2024 / 14:30 – 15:30 / German
The complexities of collecting geospatial data from the ocean demand specialised expertise and tools. In the panel "Ocean Data Acquisition", Wendt, alongside fellow experts, will dive into the cross-sectoral approaches needed to overcome the hurdles of limited accessibility, dynamic marine conditions, and the vast scale of the ocean environment. This discussion will focus on the innovations in equipment, planning, and coordination that enable precise data gathering, shedding light on how these advancements support efficient operations across governmental and commercial ventures.
EXPO STAGE 1, Hall 5 (F5.009)
Wednesday, 25.09.2024 / 15:30 – 16:30 / German
As the volume of oceanic data grows exponentially, the absence of standardised formats for bathymetric and submarine data continues to impede post-processing and real-time situational awareness, particularly in security-sensitive marine areas. In "Ocean Data Management", Wendt will explore how geospatial data hubs, such as TrueOcean, are helping to streamline ocean data management, ensuring seamless integration and analysis. This discussion, featuring insights from government, industry, and academia, will include case studies like those from the Navy, showcasing the real-world impact of these technologies in protecting critical underwater infrastructure.
EXPO STAGE 1, Hall 5 (F5.009)
Wednesday, 25.09.2024 / 16:30 – 17:30 / German
As the Blue Economy continues to grow at a rapid pace, driven by offshore wind energy, aquaculture, and marine infrastructure, the need for fast and scalable data processing is paramount. In the panel "Ocean Data Processing", Wendt will discuss how AI and GPU-accelerated technologies are poised to revolutionise oceanographic research. With the ocean now serving as a data-rich frontier, this discussion will highlight the significant strides made in processing large datasets—crucial for both innovation and sustainability in marine research and offshore industries.
For those attending, be sure to check out these live panels. If you can’t make it in person, stay tuned as we’ll be sharing the recordings afterwards.
